To provide opportunities for education and collaboration among contact lens faculty, CooperVision and its Specialty EyeCare unit sponsored the annual Educators’ Meeting at last month’s Global Specialty Lens Symposium (GSLS). During the meeting, attendees representing schools and colleges across North America learned more about recent advancements in myopia and presbyopia management, and specialty contact lenses.
This year’s theme was Breakthrough Technologies, Breakthrough Opportunities, which explored several significant developments over the past year, including: the seven-year study results for CooperVision’s MiSight® 1 day* soft contact lenses for myopia control in age appropriate children; the toric and multifocal opportunity leveraging MyDay® toric and MyDay® multifocal, and the recent introduction of CooperVision Specialty EyeCare’s diverse orthokeratology portfolio including Paragon CRT, iSEE, GOV, and Orthotools as well as Optimized Pupil Optics (OPO) for its Onefit™ MED and Onefit™ MED+ scleral lenses. Attendees also had the opportunity to speak with Chief Medical Officer of SightGlass Vision Dr. Joe Rappon, who discussed the soon-to-come spectacle option for myopia management.
