Program Description
The CooperVision Specialty Contact Lens Educational Grant offers a $1000 travel stipend* pending institutional approval each to two individuals - either students, residents, or a combination - per school to support their attendance at an optometry meeting.
Purpose
To encourage and support students and residents in presenting original research or case studies involving CooperVision specialty contact lenses with either orthokeratology (ortho-k), scleral, or hybrid lenses.
Eligibility Requirements
- The grant is open to students and residents who have not previously published a poster or paper on the patient case they wish to present.
- The poster or paper must specifically feature the use of CooperVision specialty contact lenses
- Ortho-k lenses: Paragon CRT
- Scleral lenses: Onefit family, SynergEyes VS
- SynergEyes Hybrid lenses
- The poster or paper must be accepted to a major optometry meeting (eg., Optometry's Meeting® (AOA), American Academy of Optometry (AAO), Global Specialty Lens Symposium (GSLS), etc).
- Each optometry school may submit up to two individuals - either students, residents, or a combination of both - for this travel grant award per year, with a maximum of two total submissions.
Submission Guidelines
- The poster or paper should focus on a new patient case involving CooperVision specialty contact lenses with ortho-k, scleral, or hybrid lenses in clinical practice.
- The submission must include an abstract and/or preview of the poster accepted summarizing the case or research findings.
- Applicants should submit a PDF copy of the poster or paper that has been accepted and indicate which meeting the poster will be presented at.

Application Deadline
There is no deadline; up to 2 applicants per school are eligible yearly following the calendar year.
