The 2017 American Optometric Contact Lens Educator's Meeting sponsored by CooperVision was help in St. Louis, MO at the UMSL College of Optometry campus in January. The annual meeting's focus was on "Scleral Contact Lenses: The Good, The Bad and The Technology."
Mark Andre, FAAO and Brooke Messer, OD, FAAO from CooperVision's Professional and Academic Affairs shared information about the Academic Programs in place for the schools and colleges of optometry, including Adopt-A-Patient, Student Ambassador and SVOSH, as well as the latest innovations in CooperVision contact lenses.
Two representatives from every U.S. optometry program were in attendance, as well as representatives from programs in Canada, India and Columbia, South America.
The AOCLE mission is to foster collaboration between the contact lens educators to enhance and grow the contact lens curriculum for all students. The AOCLE also encourages professional growth and involvement of the educators themselves. It is held in conjunction with the annual Global Specialty Lens Symposium.
