2022 'Best in Class' Case Report Winner: Raymond Chartier

CooperVision is proud to support the American Academy of Optometry's Cornea, Contact Lens, and Refractive Technologies (CCLRT) section. In 2021, the CCLRT challenged residents to participate in the "RCRC" (Residents Case Report Challenge) for this first time. The second annual RCRC took place this past year, culminating at the AAO meeting in San Diego in October. The challenge for residents was this: create a 5-minute video about a patient or concept that they encountered during their first years of practice. Each submission was to demonstrate the following: Case Management/Competency, Ingenuity, and Compassionate Care. Residents were also encouraged to be creative and express themselves in unique ways as a part of the challenge. Sixteen residents entered the RCRC this year and most were awarded cash prizes: Best in Class ($750), Honorable Mention ($500) or Achievement ($250). The top 6 (Best in Class and Honorable Mention) videos were presented at various CCLRT section events throughout the Academy of Optometry Meeting in San Diego. This week and next, we will share them here on ECP Viewpoints as well.  Congratulations to all of the residents who participated!

The first honorable mention video was submitted by Raymond Chartier from the Indiana University School of Optometry. Check it out!
