CooperVision and CooperVision Specialty EyeCare Welcome Rising Contact Lens and Pediatric Residents

CooperVision and CooperVision Specialty Eyecare celebrated the 8th Annual American Optometric Association Contact Lens and Cornea Section Residency (CLCS) Forum during a 2-day virtual event to welcome the Class of 2021.

42 Contact Lens and Pediatric Residents from over 20 educational institutions across the US and Canada joined members of the CLCS AOA Council and Professional and Academic Affairs teams of CooperVision, Paragon Vision Sciences, and Blanchard Contact Lenses to discuss the latest developments in contact lens care.

Popular topics of discussion included myopia management, keratoconus, corneal cross-linking, contact lenses for presbyopia, and pediatric medically necessary diagnoses. It’s an unprecedented time for the profession of optometry as we maneuver our way through COVID-19, but continue to grow, adapt, and provide patients with the highest quality of care. This program was an excellent overview of how the contact lens industry is evolving to deliver patient care in new and unique ways. Residents examined sources of telemedicine, examination techniques with corneal topography, and patient communication strategies to advance how we interact and care for our 2020 contact lens patients. This collaboration shows the unity our profession continues to exemplify to enhance the profession of optometry and the care that we deliver to our patients.

“The world of contact lenses is an enriching area of practice, and CooperVision will continue to bring motivated eye care practitioners together in forums like this, to ensure that our collective efforts for all patients remain at the forefront of cutting-edge technology.”

-Jerry Warner, President, CooperVision Inc. Americas
