The WCO and CooperVision release “A Practical Guide to Managing Children with Myopia”

In April 2021, the World Council of Optometry (WCO) passed a resolution that encourages eye care professionals worldwide to establish a standard of care for treating patients with myopia. It advocates for evidence-based approaches focused on the three pillars of mitigation, measurement, and management. To help eye care professionals institute this standard, WCO partnered with CooperVision to release “A Practical Guide to Managing Children with Myopia.

In the professional article, global leaders share insights on myopia management and how a standard of care can be adopted into a practice. Their perspectives underscore the importance of engaging in parent and child education on myopia early and following up often, as well as working with patients to establish a custom myopia management plan.
