Building on its commitment to People + Planet, CooperVision has launched its newest step in sustainability, The MADE BETTER™ Promise. Initially launched within the MyDay® family of contact lenses, The MADE BETTER™ Promise is about making smarter, more sustainable choices for our participating contact lenses.*1 It reflects the work we do each day, the progress we’ve made, and our ongoing dedication to a brighter future.

“CooperVision’s sustainability progress begins with innovation that’s reflected in our materials, our manufacturing and the entire life cycle of the products,”*†1 said Aldo Zucaro, Senior Director of Corporate Responsibility, CooperCompanies. “The MADE BETTER™ Promise is our next step in transforming innovations into realworld impact that benefits People + Planet.”*‡2

At CooperVision, we know that sustainability is a journey—one we’re committed to through purpose, innovation, and action. As we embark on the next chapter of our sustainability story, here’s a closer look at the MADE BETTER™ Promise.

Made Better for a Better World

With an eye on finding new ways to innovate and make a difference, the MADE BETTER™ Promise is a new, global sustainability platform that combines responsible sourcing, manufacturing efficiency and waste reduction practices, in addition to plastic footprint offsetting efforts, all under a single framework.*†1

“Made better is the smarter, more responsible way we design, make and deliver the products,”*†1  Mr. Zucaro continues. “Every step is intentional, bold, and with purpose, because every choice we make today shapes a better tomorrow. It’s our promise to keep pushing forward, choosing progress over complacency and proving that when we make things better, we make a difference.”

The MADE BETTER™ Promise is embedded throughout the lifecycle of MyDay® lenses. This encompasses sourcing more responsibly with lower carbon packaging materials, intentionally manufacturing for greater efficiency and reduced waste, and offsetting a portion of plastic footprint for the products sold.*†1

Key elements of CooperVision’s MADE BETTER™ Promise include:

  • MADE BETTERTM Through Sourcing Responsibly: We are proud to use ISCC PLUS-certified materials in all of MyDay® blister packs,§3,4 making CooperVision the first and only contact lens manufacturer to do so.◊¶3 ISCC PLUS is a globally recognized certification system that verifies whether materials are sourced, produced, and allocated in line with internationally established sustainability principles. These include protecting carbon-rich lands and biodiversity, respecting human rights, ensuring safe working conditions, and maintaining full traceability throughout the supply chain.

  • MADE BETTER™ Through Recovery + Repurposing: Our manufacturing processes are intentionally designed to reduce our carbon footprint through next-generation technologies and improved resource efficiency.**3 Approximately 95% of MyDay®’s primary packaging is made from lower-carbon materials◊††‡‡§§1—helping reduce our impact with every box. Additionally, facilities that make MyDay® contact lenses recycle more than 90% of waste.◊◊5

  • MADE BETTER™ Through Offsetting Our Possible Impact: CooperVision led the way as the first contact lens manufacturer to offer a range of net plastic neutral contact lenses.¶¶***†††6 To date, our net plastic neutrality program has supported the collection and recycling of over 670 million plastic bottles from coastal areas where plastic pollution is prevalent.‡‡‡7As part of our net plastic neutrality program, MyDay® alone has supported the collection and recycling of over 150 million plastic bottles-and counting.†§§§◊◊◊2

Sustainability and You

We’re making changes in the way we do things with the MADE BETTER™ Promise. But you can count on the fact that MyDay® is still the same. It’s just made with less carbon.‡‡¶¶¶8

We’re excited to take this next step for People + Planet. And we hope you’ll join us in this effort.

“As eye care professionals, we make daily choices that extend far beyond our exam rooms,” says Raj Patel, OD, FAAO, of Vancouver Vision Clinic. “Sustainability reflects a commitment to long-term health—not just for our patients, but for our communities and our planet. CooperVision’s leadership in this space gives me confidence that I’m aligning my practice with a company that shares those values.”

*CooperVision’s MADE BETTER™ Innovation program has introduced lower-carbon inputs with traceable sourcing - including ISCC PLUS-certified, lower-carbon plastic and lower-carbon aluminum - into the primary packaging of the MyDay® range of products. It also refers to process improvements that have reduced waste, improved energy efficiency, and lowered greenhouse gas emissions during production of the MyDay® range of products. Methods and verification information are available at coopervision.com/sustainability/methods.

†Through its partnership with Plastic Bank, CooperVision offsets a portion of its plastic footprint by funding the collection and recycling of plastic waste, equivalent in weight to the plastic used in participating soft contact lens products sold in participating countries, gathered within 30 miles of oceans or waterways in countries where Plastic Bank operates. Plastic weight is based on the total weight of plastic in the lens, blister, and secondary packaging, including laminates, adhesives, and auxiliary inputs (e.g. ink). This does not include plastic used during the manufacturing process.

‡As of March 25, 2026, more than 9,000 Plastic Bank collection members across 600+ communities in Indonesia, Egypt, and the Philippines have exchanged collected plastic waste for income and life-improving benefits (such as insurance, digital connectivity, grocery vouchers, and school supplies) through CooperVision's net plastic neutrality program with Plastic Bank, cumulative since January 2021.

§Foil lidding and the contact lenses are not ISCC PLUS certified.

◊‘Packaging’ refers to the blister pack that directly encloses each contact lens - the plastic tray sealed with an aluminum foil lid.

¶Determination is based on a review of the ISCC PLUS public certificate database and publicly available information. ISCC PLUS certificates are issued at supplier/site level and may not identify downstream brands. As of November 6, 2025, no other contact lens manufacturers were identified as using ISCC PLUS certified plastic. For the stated period, CooperVision's internal documentation with SCS Global Services shows that 100% of the polypropylene used for MyDay® blister packs was allocated to ISCC PLUS certified input; certification does not imply physical segregation.

◊◊SCS Global Services Certificate No. SCS-ZW-0018 verifies a recycling rate of 94.7% for the Juana Díaz, PR facility. SCS Global Services is an international leader in third-party certification, validation, and verification for environmental sustainability. CooperVision's internal records demonstrate an average recycling rate of over 90% for its MyDay® manufacturing facilities in the UK.

¶¶clariti® 1 day is defined as orders and includes clariti® 1 day sphere, clariti® 1 day toric, and clariti® 1 day multifocal product sold & distributed by CooperVision Globally.

***Net plastic neutrality is established by purchasing credits from Plastic Bank. A credit represents the collection and conversion of one kilogram of plastic that may reach or be destined for waterways. CooperVision purchases credits equal to the weight of plastic in clariti® 1 day orders in a specified time period. clariti® 1 day plastic is determined by the weight of plastic in the blister, the lens, and the secondary package, including laminates, adhesives, and auxiliary inputs (e.g. ink).

†††Based on top 4 global contact lens manufacturers.

‡‡‡CooperVision, through its collaboration with Plastic Bank, has collected and converted approximately 13 M kg of plastic destined for waterways as of March 27, 2026. Using Plastic Bank's metric of 1kg of plastic equaling 50 standard 202mm bottles, that will be the equivalent of approximately 671 M plastic bottles.

§§§Plastic Bank equates 1 kg of collected plastic to fifty 500 ml bottles, based on its 2023 Bottle-to-Kilogram Research Project.

◊◊◊Bottle totals are derived from Plastic Bank’s Impact Dashboard as of October 3, 2025, and represent cumulative collections and recycling since the program’s inception in January 2021.

¶¶¶Results compare 2024 with a 2021 baseline. Full life cycle assessment has been conducted in accordance with ISO 14067 and verified through independent critical review from a cradle-to-grave basis, which covers all product stages from raw material extraction to end-of-life. Details on methodology and verification are available at coopervision.com/sustainability/methods.
