CooperVision Focuses on Partners at Global Specialty Lens Symposium

2016 Educators Meeting at GSLS

On January 21-24, representatives of CooperVision’s Professional and Academic Affairs joined over 650 of their colleagues at the Global Specialty Lens Symposium (GSLS) held at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, NV. This important meeting sponsored by Contact Lens Spectrum focuses on the successful management of ocular conditions using today's specialty contact lenses. GSLS is one of the few stand-alone meetings in the world that centers primarily on contact lenses.

Before the official meeting even began, CooperVision displayed commitment to their partners by bringing two faculty members from each optometry school in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico together for open discussions about how we can better support their needs with new products and services.

CooperVision, a gold level exhibitor at GSLS, also sponsored a manufacturer’s break-out session.  The session featured a presentation entitled “Fitting Tips to Improve Your Success with Multifocal Soft Contact Lenses” given by Mark Andre, F.A.A.O., director of academic affairs for CooperVision.

Said Andre, “Our goal at this meeting was really to show the eye care practitioners that we are focusing on their future as partners and employees, and that we want to help with the education process to ensure that they have the tools they need to succeed.”

As our mission is to help improve the way people see each day, CooperVision’s Research & Development team recently evaluated a prototype lens design to determine if it reduced symptoms related to digital eye fatigue. These results were also presented in a clinical poster presented at GSLS.
