Optometry Giving Sight
Currently, more than 600 million people are blind or visually impaired due to no access to eye examinations and lack of vision correction, like a simple pair of eyeglasses.
Optometry Giving Sight wants to change this for the better, and so do we.
Optometry Giving Sight is a global organization that helps improve and, in some cases, return vision to people. More than 67 sustainable eye care projects in 38 countries have been supported by Optometry Giving Sight since 2007. This has helped to provide basic eye care services to over 4 million people, train more than 2600 eye care personnel and support the establishment of more than 100 vision centers.
Their aim is to help prevent blindness and impaired vision by providing something many of us take for granted: access to a professional eye examination and corrective lenses.
Optometry Giving Sight distributes 85 percent of donations directly to eye and vision care projects that are initiated and implemented by its project partners.
To help further this worthy cause, CooperVision is a proud Global Sponsor. For Optometry Giving Sight’s 2013 World Sight Day Challenge, employees in over 30 locations worldwide participated in a global fundraising campaign and organized local activities to help raise funds for the Challenge. With the support from our parent company, The Cooper Companies, $100,000 was donated to Optometry Giving Sight for its World Sight Day Challenge.
We’ve made it easy for you to help, too. We've invited those people who purchase contact lenses using a rebate to donate a portion, or all, of their CooperVision contact lens rebates to help Optometry Giving Sight continue their work.
