Biofinity Energys® is a monthly contact lens, made with Silicone Hydrogel (SiHy) material, designed to provide a balance of incredible all-day comfort, breathability and excellent visual performance. 4,5

What is the difference between Biofinity® and Biofinity Energys®?

Biofinity® lenses are designed to provide comfort and clarity for everyday wear.6 The Biofinity Energys® lens features DigitalBoost™ Technology, which may help with eye tiredness associated with digital device use.4 Both lenses feature Aquaform® Technology to lock in moisture and help your eyes feel less dry.4 If you’re someone who finds themselves frequently using digital devices, ask your Eye Care Practitioner about Biofinity Energys®.

 

Is Biofinity Energys® a monthly lens? / How long can I wear Biofinity Energys®?

Biofinity Energys® is a monthly contact lens, meaning it’s designed to be worn daily for up to 30 days before needing to be replaced. Biofinity Energys® is also approved for extended wear and can be worn continuously for up to six nights and seven days.7 You should follow your Eye Care Practitioner’s guidance on wearing schedules and lens replacement.

How does Biofinity Energys® work?

Biofinity Energys® uses Aquaform® Technology to lock in moisture and help your eyes feel less dry, particularly at times when you blink less often like when viewing digital devices.4 It also uses DigitalBoost™ Technology to help ease the stress from overworked eye muscles.*8 Together, these technologies may help with eye tiredness and dryness associated with digital device use.4 It may also help your eyes better adapt when shifting focus between digital devices and the real world.*8

Does Biofinity Energys® help with blue light?

CooperVision took an evidence-based approach to addressing digital eye strain. While Biofinity Energys® contact lenses do not specifically block blue light, contact lens wearers who experienced the DigitalBoost™ Technology in Biofinity Energys® were significantly more likely than Biofinity® sphere lens wearers to report that their eyes felt less tired during or after working with digital devices.5 Additionally, wearers reported having to strain to see well less often after some time working with a computer.§9

Is Biofinity Energys® a better option than blue light glasses, a screen filter or standard lenses?

While the use of spectral filters such as blue light filters is growing in popularity, a recent review suggests that more research is needed to establish how well they actually work.10 In a survey of Biofinity® lens wearers, the switch to Biofinity Energys® lenses was shown to make a difference in how tired their eyes felt during or after computer use.§9

What are common impacts/symptoms of digital device use?

If you regularly spend hours each day on digital devices, it’s not uncommon to experience a combination of symptoms that might include eye dryness and discomfort, eye strain, eye redness and irritation, blurry vision and possibly even headaches.11 The technology in Biofinity Energys® is specially developed to keep up with today’s digital lifestyles by helping with eye tiredness and dryness associated with digital device use.4

What is digital eye strain?

Digital eye strain is a condition caused by prolonged use of digital screens such as smartphones, tablets and personal computers. During times of screen viewing, it’s natural for us to blink less often, which can cause eye dryness and irritation, especially for contact lens wearers.11

What are ways of helping with symptoms of digital device use?

If possible, it always helps to take breaks from your screen viewing, especially when you feel the symptoms coming on. While not completely scientific, some eye care professionals recommend what’s known as the 20-20-20 Rule – every 20 minutes refocus your eyes on an object 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds.  

Other strategies for helping symptoms include proper posture and lighting, vision-friendly screen settings, and making a conscious effort to blink regularly during screen viewing. Artificial tears are another way to help moisturize your eyes. If you wear contact lenses and experience eye tiredness and dryness during digital device use, ask your Eye Care Professional about Biofinity Energys® lenses.

Is Biofinity Energys® more expensive? / How much does Biofinity Energys® cost?

Biofinity Energys® lenses can be purchased directly from most Eye Care Professionals and through a variety of channels including optical stores and online retailers. Ask your Eye Care Professional about available free trial offers and rebates. You must have a valid prescription before purchasing.

Can you sleep in Biofinity Energys®?
