PLEASANTON, CA – CooperVision announced that it has recently launched a campaign to help eye care professionals enhance sales around end-of-year Flexible Spending Account (FSA) activity.

The campaign is focused on the Biofinity line of contact lenses, the fastest-growing premier monthly disposable brand of contact lenses on the market (Source: Health Products Research, New Fit Data, Third Quarter 2011). Directed primarily at consumers, the campaign includes rebates and free trial offers for new and existing Biofinity wearers. In addition, to help eye care professionals reach their patients, there are downloadable marketing materials available from CooperVision. Downloadable materials are available at www.coopervision.com/BiofinityFSA.

According to Mercer’s 26th Annual Survey of Employer Sponsored Health Plans, the average annual employee contribution to health care spending accounts will be $1,490 in 2011. Due to the ‘use it, or lose it’ clause in FSA’s, CooperVision is helping eye care professionals to remind their patients of the opportunity to get the most out of their FSA’s. “Contact lenses tend to be a very popular item among people with flexible spending accounts,” said James Gardner, CooperVision’s Vice President of Marketing for the Americas. “We hope that by reminding eye care professionals of available FSA dollars, combined with attractive rebates and free trial offers, we are creating a terrific opportunity for incremental year-end sales.”

About Biofinity Contact Lenses

Biofinity silicone hydrogel lenses incorporate Aquaform® Comfort Science™, a blend of Aquaform Technology and an optimized lens design that results in a comfortable and high-performing lens.  Aquaform Technology combines a unique balance of high oxygen permeability, a naturally wettable material, and optimum modulus for a softer and more flexible lens.  High levels of oxygen flow through the lenses, increasing breathability and promoting eye health. Unlike other silicone hydrogel lenses, Biofinity lenses stay moist throughout the lens-wearing cycle without the need for surface treatments or wetting agents.  Biofinity contact lenses are approved for up to 6 nights or 7 days of extended wear.
