Pleasanton, CA, le 10 Juin 2013 — Le fabricant américain CooperVision annonce le lancement de sa nouvelle lentille journalière MyDay. Fruit d’un travail de recherche qui aurait duré six ans, ce nouveau produit a été dévoilé en fin de semaine par la direction de CooperVision au cours d’un congrès de BCLA (British Contact Lens Association). Destinée aux myopes ou hypermétropes et conçue à base d’un matériau breveté surnommé « Smart Silicone », la nouvelle lentille journalière MyDay a été conçue pour offrir une perméabilité à l’oxygène encore plus élevée ainsi qu’une haute mouillabilité afin de garantir un confort de port de longue durée. « Face à l’évolution des lentilles en silicone-hydrogel, nous avons été patients dans notre approche pour développer une nouvelle lentille répondant à toutes les exigences essentielles des porteurs et de l’industrie » a souligné le vice-président de CooperVision, Dennis Murphy.

Les professionnels présents au congrès BCLA ont pu librement tester la lentille journalière MyDay et la plupart d’entre eux seraient satisfaits du résultat. Selon le laboratoire CooperVision, les essais cliniques ont également été concluants avec 9 patients sur 10 satisfaits de la qualité de vision et du confort de port obtenus. « Ce nouveau produit offre un équilibre optimal entre le confort, la perméabilité et la facilité de manipulation » a précisé Mark Harty, le dirigeant de la branche européenne de CooperVision.

Diamètre : 14.2 mm, rayon de courbure : 8.4 mm
Puissance : - 10.00 à + 6.00 dioptries
Rythme de port : usage unique, remplacement quotidien
Filtre UV : blocage de 75 % des UVA et 99 % des UVB

La nouvelle lentille MyDay sera commercialisée en premier lieu sur le marché européen dès septembre 2013, avant d’être disponible également aux Etats-Unis dès janvier 2014.

The new lens MyDay will be marketed first in the European market since September 2013, before being available in the U.S. in January 2014.
