Addressing COVID-19 Challenges: Guided by Our Values

At CooperVision, respecting our core values—dedicated, inventive, partners and friendly—in both good and challenging times helps set us apart. COVID-19 continues to present significant health and economic challenges to people and organizations across the globe. The safety and well-being of our employees, customers and communities remains our top priority. Our values have guided our response to this pandemic.

As the outbreak emerged, CooperVision initiated a number of protocols based on guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to protect the health and safety of our employees. Our employees are the heart and soul of our company. It is because of their hard work, collaboration, and compassion that we were able to continue to manufacture and distribute our products. Millions of people still need their contact lenses and supplies, and we are committed to providing these essential products.

The eye care professional-patient relationship is special, and we are privileged to partner with ECPs to help them provide contact lens wearers with the support they need. Practice closures have significantly strained ECPs ability to deliver patient care and services. To help ease this burden, we have modified and expanded our direct-to-patient home delivery offerings, making it more convenient for practices to ship lenses to the wearers that need them.

We have conducted training and education webinars for thousands of ECPs around the world and worked with them to ensure consumers have science-supported facts to safely wear their contact lenses. And as localities are gradually opening their economies, our teams have created a range of supporting resources to help re-open practices.

In the UK and Puerto Rico, we repurposed part of our facilities to produce bottles of hand sanitizer for distribution to employees, customers and community-based organizations.

Finally, we all owe a debt of gratitude to those who are on the frontlines of this pandemic, day in and day out. We are finding ways to offer a heartfelt thank you, from partnering with participating U.S. ECPs to offer complimentary contact lens refills for essential hospital workers, to supporting local healthcare professionals by donating face masks, to acts of compassion such as delivering hot meals organized by teams of CooperVision employees.

Our values will continue to guide CooperVision in how we support our employees, customers, and communities to overcome challenges together and emerge stronger than ever.
