You care about the environment. That passion for doing what’s best for the planet undoubtedly influences the products you choose in your day-to-day life—including your contact lenses.

Silicone hydrogel 1-day contact lenses allow more oxygen to reach your eye. That healthier lens-wearing experience1 also makes for whiter, brighter2*, more comfortable eyes. And now there is a 1-day contact lens option that also makes a positive impact on the environment.

Contact lenses are medical devices, and specialized plastic plays a critical role in the hygiene and sterility of CooperVision’s products; how that plastic is managed is important.

CooperVision has a strong track record of sustainable manufacturing and operations, focused on areas in which we can make the greatest impact. We have developed best-in-class manufacturing processes resulting in award-winning conservation efforts in Puerto Rico and prestigious sustainability certifications at our facilities in Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Spain, and the U.K. Now, we’re taking that commitment a step further by making clariti® 1 day3 the first net plastic neutral contact lens4.

“Net plastic neutral” means that for every box of clariti® 1 day distributed in the United States since the start of 2021, CooperVision is committed to the collection, processing, and reuse of general plastic waste that is equal to the weight of the plastic contained in clariti® 1 day lenses and packaging.

This is made possible through an exciting new partnership with Plastic Bank®, a global organization that reduces ocean-bound plastic while providing opportunities for social good. The group enables people in developing countries to collect ocean-bound plastic from their coastal communities in exchange for compensation or goods and services, including food, clean water, or school tuition for their children.

The sustainable efforts that you make throughout the day are vital to our brighter future. Wearing clariti® 1 day contact lenses is an easy way to make even more of an impact, and all you have to do is simply enjoy the great performance and everyday value5 of the lens.

Ask your eye professional about the clariti® 1 day family, which includes sphere, toric, and multifocal options to meet your unique visual needs. It’s the 1-day lens you can feel good about wearing6, knowing you’re doing your part for both the planet and the people who live on it.

Join us on the journey. We’re excited to make a difference—together.

Net plastic neutrality is established by purchasing credits from Plastic Bank. A credit represents the collection and conversion of one kilogram of plastic that may reach or be destined for waterways. CooperVision purchases credits equal to the weight of plastic in clariti® 1 day orders in a specified time period.  clariti® 1 day plastic is determined by the weight of plastic in the blister, the lens, and the secondary package, including laminates, adhesives, and auxiliary inputs (e.g. ink).
