SAN RAMON, Calif., January 4, 2021—To raise awareness of the importance of sustainability in eye care, CooperVision has launched a social media contest encouraging eye care professionals to be more sustainable in their practices and daily lives. The “Planet-Loving Practices Sustainability Contest”—which runs now through the end of January—will feature weekly winners on CooperVision’s social media platforms, supported with additional marketing to increase visibility of participating practices.

“Research shows that consumers are paying more attention to the sustainability practices of the companies with which they choose to do business1,” said Melissa Kiewe, Vice President, North America Marketing, CooperVision. “These trends uncover opportunities for optometry practices to differentiate themselves through the implementation of sustainable practices in their own offices. Through the Planet-Loving Practices Sustainability Contest, we’ll partner with eye care professionals who are leading this charge to showcase the efforts they’re making for the benefit of their patients, their practices, and the planet.”

To enter, eye care professionals from across the country must share photos and/or videos on their social media channels showcasing how they are environmentally responsible—at work or at home—and tag three of their colleagues utilizing the #claritiForThePlanet hashtag. Each week, the post with the most likes will be highlighted on CooperVision’s social media channels. For more information about the contest, visit the article on ECP Viewpoints℠.

CooperVision’s clariti® 1 day family of contact lenses is sustainably manufactured as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to minimize its environmental impact and operate more sustainability around the world.
