Praised for Two Decades of Leadership at Annual Eyes on New York Gala
NEW YORK, April 5, 2017 — The board of trustees of the Optometric Center of New York (OCNY), the foundation of the SUNY College of Optometry, last week honored CooperVision Americas President Jerry Warner at its signature Eyes on New York gala. He was praised for more than two decades of optometry and contact lens industry leadership and advocacy, helping improve life for millions through access to vision-enhancing technologies, products and services.
Bob Colucci, president, IDD, Essilor of America and chairman, Essilor Vision Foundation was also recognized at the 14th annual event, held at the Plaza Hotel.
The gala’s proceeds support vision care for indigent and working poor men, women, and children who visit the College’s University Eye Center, scholarships for outstanding students, vision science research, and community outreach programs, including vision care for the homebound throughout New York City.
“Eyes on New York has raised a significant amount of funds over its history, thanks to the generosity of so many. What’s even more heartwarming is hearing the stories of the people whom those dollars will benefit: tomorrow, next month, and even a generation from now,” said Warner. “Thank you to the Optometric Center of New York for its steadfast dedication to improving sight each day – a commitment held by my colleagues at CooperVision. I’m honored to be recognized, and gratefully accept the honor on behalf of everyone who shares this passion for the gift of sight.”
