SAN RAMON, Calif., March 28, 2023CooperVision Specialty EyeCare today released the schedule for its 2023 Beyond the Limbus (BTL) scleral lens workshops. The dual-tracked series is broken into two parts: Scleral Lens Accelerator Training for eye care professionals (ECPs) and Scleral Lens Basics Training for office support staff. The workshops provide practices with the tools, resources, and education necessary to enhance their fitting and prescribing practices with the company’s Onefit™ and SynergEyes VS scleral contact lenses.

The workshops will consist of a single day intensive training session led by industry-leading specialty lens experts, including Justine Siergey, OD, Manager, Professional Affairs, Irregular Cornea, CooperVision Specialty EyeCare, Americas; Tom Arnold, OD, Regional Vice President for Corporate Development, AEG Vision, and Renee Reeder, OD, Professor and Department Chair, Clinical Affairs, University of Pikeville.

The full timeline of workshops for 2023 is as follows:

  • Sunday, April 16, Dallas
  • Sunday, May 7, San Francisco
  • Sunday, May 7, Chicago
  • Sunday, June 4, Denver
  • Sunday, June 11, New York

ECPs also have the option to register for a virtual BTL workshop, so that they can access scleral lens training at their own convenience.

“Through the BTL series, ECPs across the U.S. have the opportunity to elevate their fitting, troubleshooting and practice management skills, while simultaneously training their staff to assist with scleral lens fitting, including application and removal,” said Dr. Siergey. “Attendees will learn which scleral lenses are best suited for certain patients, and even when to consider other modalities in our portfolio, like UltraHealth hybrid contact lenses for keratoconus.”
