New Packaging Offers Greater Convenience for Growing Number of Presbyopic Patients Wearing 1-Day Contact Lenses
PLEASANTON, Calif., February 10, 2016 — CooperVision, Inc. announced today the addition of a 90-pack configuration for clariti® 1 day multifocal contact lenses, which provide presbyopic patients with the benefits of silicone hydrogel material and the advantages of a 1-day modality—resulting in a healthier contact lens-wearing experience.
clariti® 1 day contact lenses were added to CooperVision’s leading product portfolio through the company’s 2014 acquisition of Sauflon Pharmaceuticals Ltd. In the following months, CooperVision expanded clariti® 1 day’s availability throughout the U.S. Until now, clariti® 1 day multifocal lenses were available only in 30-pack cartons.
“As more practices and wearers realize the benefits of 1-day lenses, their popularity is extending to the multifocal category,” said Michelle North, Marketing Director, 1-Day Brands, North America, CooperVision. “Our close partnerships with eye care practitioners helped identify the opportunities available with a 90-pack option. Offering patients a silicone hydrogel, 1-day multifocal contact lens that allows them to remain in the modality even as they become presbyopic helps reduce dropout rates and can increase a practice’s contact lens revenue. Now, 90-pack and 30-pack configurations will enable practitioners to more easily dispense clariti® 1 day multifocal lenses.”
CooperVision offers one of the most robust multifocal contact lens portfolios in the industry to treat presbyopic patients, including those with astigmatism. clariti® 1 day lenses feature high water content to support excellent all-day comfort. WetLoc™ technology ensures the entire lens surface is continuously moist and mimics the moisture dispersion of naturally healthy eyes. clariti® 1 day lenses have a high oxygen transmissibility—which allows 100 percent corneal oxygen consumption and also helps maintain ocular health.
clariti® 1 day multifocal lenses feature a base curve of 8.6 mm, a diameter of 14.1 mm, and a Dk/t (@-3.00D) of 86, with a power range of +5.00 to -6.00D (0.25 steps) with ADD powers of Low (up to +2.25D) and High (+2.50 to +3.00D).
