Used by Thousands of ECPs Each Month already, Digital Tool Builds Practitioner Confidence and Increases Toric and Multifocal First-Fit Success
PLEASANTON, Calif., September 18, 2019—In just 10 months since it launched in the United States, CooperVision’s OptiExpert® app has already been adopted by tens of thousands of eye care professionals to boost CooperVision toric and multifocal contact lens fitting success. In fact, the U.S. has quickly become the third largest OptiExpert market globally, behind only the U.K. and Germany, which were among the first countries to introduce the app in 2014.
The popular digital tool—which includes straightforward CooperVision multifocal and toric contact lens calculators, and oxygen profiles that display the oxygen transmissibility of a select range of lenses—has logged more than 25,000 new users and has garnered more than 7,400 app downloads in the U.S. since being launched December 2018. Nearly 60% of users utilize the desktop version of the tool.
“As part of CooperVision’s partnership with eye care professionals, we are always looking for ways we can help make their jobs easier and their practices more efficient. OptiExpert was designed to simplify multifocal and toric contact lens fitting—boosting practitioner confidence and increasing the probability of first-fit success,1,2” said Michele Andrews, OD, Senior Director, Professional and Academic Affairs, North America, CooperVision. “The rapid adoption—and steady cadence of users each month—illustrates that OptiExpert® has proven to be a valuable asset to ECPs.”
OptiExpert includes diagnostic lens recommendations from CooperVision product families, including clariti®, 1 day, MyDay®, Biofinity®, Avaira Vitality™ and Proclear®.
Clinical study results released earlier this year indicated that when eye care professionals utilize OptiExpert’s recommendations, 100% of contact lens wearers can be successfully fitted with clariti 1 day multifocal using two pairs of trial lenses or less.2
OptiExpert® is available in 15 languages and 79 countries and territories, and is regularly used by thousands of ECPs each month. The app—which Google Play reviewers have awarded 4.5 of 5 stars—is free for iOS and Android devices, and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play.
