SAN RAMON, Calif., September 14, 2022 — With digital device use putting more demands on the eyes than ever before, CooperVision announced today an addition to its product portfolio: MyDay Energys® daily disposable contact lenses. MyDay Energys® is the first 1 day contact lens with an innovative single vision aspheric lens design, which was initially introduced in the company’s groundbreaking Biofinity Energys®. The lenses are designed for today’s world, providing extraordinary comfort for wearers when they are using digital devices.

Today’s teens report spending more than eight hours a day on screens1 and adults more than 11 hours a day on digital devices.2 Plus, more than 67% of adults report using two or more devices simultaneously.3 These activities can contribute to eyes feeling strained and uncomfortable.4

“Extensive digital device use—and the resulting discomfort of digital eye strain5—have become part of everyday life,” said Michele Andrews, OD, Vice President, Professional and Government Affairs, Americas, CooperVision. “In the years since CooperVision launched Biofinity Energys® to help eye care professionals address these challenges, we’ve consistently been asked for the same technology in a 1 day lens. Through our commitment to continuous innovation and a relentless vision to grow the value of contact lenses for fitters and patients, that day will be here soon.”

MyDay Energys® is the latest addition to CooperVision’s popular MyDay® family. MyDay® contact lenses are made with Aquaform® Technology, which provides a unique balance of high oxygen permeability, a naturally wettable material, and optimum modulus for increased breathability and moisture in a soft, flexible lens. The lens also provides ease of insertion and built-in UV blocking (86% of UVA and 97% of UVB rays*), helping to minimize the transmission of harmful UV rays.

The introduction of MyDay Energys® is the latest advancement in the company’s commitment to providing CooperVision’s innovative lens features across both the monthly and 1 day modalities.

Further details regarding MyDay Energys®, including available parameters and U.S. availability, will be announced in the coming months.
