Leading Contact Lens Manufacturer is Exclusive Sponsor of the Film’s Companion eBook

LAS VEGAS, September 14, 2016 — In support of its ongoing commitment to the field of optometry—and its purpose to improve the way people see each day—CooperVision, Inc., one of the world’s leading manufacturers of soft contact lenses, announced today that it is the exclusive sponsor of the companion eBook for “SIGHT: The Story of Vision.” The one-hour documentary, produced by Koenig Films for initial broadcast on PBS followed by worldwide distribution through other partners, celebrates vision.

Narrated by Sir Elton John, the film weaves the tale of the journey of humanity that discovered the science, and highlights the technology and medicine that allows for understanding of how sight works, how to cure diseases of the eye, and how to correct vision.

The companion eBook is intended to be educational, as well as to enhance and extend the viewer’s experience with the film. It will be available electronically on the websites of PBS stations that broadcast the documentary, and through other global broadcast partners.

“Vision is an incredibly powerful and vital sense, and one that is often taken for granted,” said Jerry Warner, President, North America at CooperVision. “Through our partnership with eye care practitioners, we work hard every day to provide patients with the best possible vision, and we fund initiatives that protect and restore sight in communities across the world. To be involved with this film was a natural fit for CooperVision, and we congratulate Koenig Films on the culmination of all the team’s hard work to bring ‘SIGHT’ to life.”

“SIGHT: The Story of Vision” will premiere for a select audience at Vision Expo West in Las Vegas tonight at 6 p.m. in the Lagrasse Stadium at the Venetian. Media are welcome to attend. The film’s premiere on public television is scheduled for World Sight Day on Thursday, October 13. Viewers should check their local TV listings.
